Team Member Spotlight: Danielle
Danielle here. Content Manager and photographer for Coulson Macleod. That's just basically a fancy way of saying that I handle social media and online things. Naturally, I'm normally in charge of the blog posts. So read on to find out what is whirring around in my brain...
What does a typical workday look like for you?
A bit of everything. I look after the social media, website and photography so it can vary from day to day.
I mostly spend time scheduling content for Instagram and Facebook, analysing data, finding interesting things to feature in our newsletters, photographing new products and making sure the website is kept up-to-date. Not necessarily in that order.
How would you describe Coulson Macleod in three words?
Wordy. Witty. Wonderful.
What's your favourite Coulson Macleod product?
The wooden prints. They are so versatile and look amazing in a frame or can stand on their own propped up on a shelf. Perfect for a natural, minimal aesthetic.
Before working at Coulson Macleod, what was the most unusual or interesting job you ever had?
I started my work life in a call centre (yawn!) and then went on to be a freelance wedding photographer. That was certainly interesting as each day was unique. One wedding, the bride was an equestrian so the best man proceeded to do his entire speech neighing like a horse. As you do. That certainly got a few disapproving and confused looks from some elderly guests.
What kind of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I've always got a camera handy. Aside from photography, I’m a big fan of music and film so I regularly go to the cinema, live gigs and festivals. My partner has just got into mountain biking so I’m tagging along for the ride (no pun intended). Although I’m certainly no action hero. More of a ‘safety first’ sort. So, this could get interesting (or end very quickly).

Favourite book or movie?
Book - The Farm by Tom Rob Smith. I can’t get enough of films so couldn’t possibly choose. Favourite film I’ve seen recently? Probably ‘A Quiet Place’.
Favourite travel destination?
Norway. Visited the fjords last year and it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. Itching to go back and explore further north like Tromsø or the Lofoten Islands.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Quesadillas.
What is a fun fact about you?
My grandad lived on Catesby Street; the very street where the Coulson Macleod studio is based. My uncles work for Timsons Engineering who we share a business centre with. My great aunt lived just around the corner and my aunt lives on the next road up. This is all purely coincidental. Or destiny.
Dun dun dun…
I also love heavy metal music, to the surprise of many.
